Cuero partido o gamuza

El cuero partido se crea a partir de la parte fibrosa de la piel que queda una vez que el grano superior del cuero crudo se haya separado de la piel. Durante la operación de separación, las divisiones superior e inferior se separan. La división se puede dividir aún más (permitiendo el espesor) en una división central y otra con carne. En pieles muy gruesas, la división central puede separarse en múltiples capas hasta que el grosor evite una división posterior. Se le aplica al cuero partido posteriormente una capa artificial a la superficie de la división y se realza con grano de cuero (cuero incrustado). Las divisiones también se usan para crear gamuza. El ante más fuerte generalmente está hecho de hendiduras de grano (cuyo grano ha sido completamente eliminado) o de la división de pulpa que se ha rasurado hasta el grosor correcto. La gamuza puede ser un tanto “peludo” en ambos lados. Los fabricantes utilizan una variedad de técnicas para hacer gamuza de grano completo. Una gamuza invertida

es un cuero granulado que se ha diseñado en el artículo de cuero con el grano alejado de la superficie visible. No se considera una verdadera forma de gamuza.
